If you will send PDFs for processing in CCH Scan, you can use CCH ProSystem fx Funnel to digitally insert cover pages and target sheets in your PDFs.
CCH Scan uses cover pages and target sheets to organize and bookmark PDF files.
Neither cover pages nor target sheets are required.
For more information and recommendations regarding cover pages and target sheets, see the CCH Scan Help file.
You can select to insert a cover page when you initiate a CCH ProSystem fx Funnel job or after you've already created a PDF. Cover pages are inserted at the beginning of the PDF.
For information on adding a cover page when you initiate a job, see Creating a New CCH ProSystem fx Funnel Job.
To add a cover page in a PDF you have already created, proceed as follows:
Do one of the following:
Right-click the location in the PDF where you want to add a cover page, and then click Add Cover Page.
Click Add Cover Page on the toolbar.
Note: If your firm uses Document routing slips instead of cover pages, you can print the routing slip to PDF (or another file format), and add it to the CCH ProSystem fx Funnel job, just like any other file.
You can insert target sheets before, during, or after the conversion process. If you need to force files into specific classifications, use one of the manual processes below. The automatic process will add either a single page or a multi-page target sheet before each file in a conversion job.
- Single Target Sheet. Select this option for a generic single-page document.
- Multi Target Sheet. Select this option for a generic multi-page document.
- From Catalog. Select this option to specify a particular catalog, document type, or classification. For information about the settings, you must specify when you select this option, see Insert target sheets manually after conversion below for detailed information about these options. Click Add after making your selections.
This method inserts generic single- or multi-page target sheets before each file in a conversion job. Single-page target sheets are inserted before image files, such as JPEG, PNG, and BMP files. Multi-page target sheets are inserted for all other file types.
You cannot use force specific classifications, nor can you select to add target sheets before some documents and not others if you select this method.
To use this method, proceed as follows:
4. Click Start Conversion.
